Minute Meeting: 1

Took place at-Crown Woods College, Arden Building, Media Room.

Issues discussed

-Storyboard-Camera shots, synchronisation, transitions, scenes.
-Music-Instruments.
-Potential Settings-Severndroog Castle.
-Potential Mis en scene-props, lighting effects.
-Technology used in production.

Storyboard

Use of camera
-Discussion that the film may be shot using night vision mode, authentic camera handling similar to the

Alternation
-On discussion the storyboard is subject to slight alteration.
-Shots will be filmed twice at different positions and angles. To have multiple choice on commence of editing.
-Camera (possibly) to be switched on and off from one scene to another to create the idea that the audience have missed elements of the film connotating the Thetis of a teaser trailer.

Shots
First shot-pan out long shot of Severndroog Castle during twilight hours (from 3 pm) (timing estimated 3 seconds)
Final shot-one character standing along against a dark background then being pulled into the darkness (the assailant unknown by both character and audience.)
Final audio the sound of character screaming then the shot (edited) onto a dark background with the title peering onto the screen.

Editing
Transitions-shots make the transition using a static effect (to denote the usage of live camera footage-some being unseen.)

Music and Sound

Instruments
-Piano-played and recorded backwards to create an eerie ambience.
-Drums-to mimic heartbeat (Edited to speed as the pace increases.)


Mis en scene

Lighting
-The use of low level lighting and night vision on camera to connote a horrific atmosphere.
-Certain scenes shot exterior of setting to create a naturalistic, contemporary feel to the film in contrast to the continuous darker shots throughout the rest of the teaser trailer

Props

-One major prop that was discussed is the use of a scrapbook showing old newspaper cut outs, newspapers e.tc all depicting the castle’s horrific past. (Details of production to be discussed later.)

-The use of technological equipment such as mobiles.


Setting-Severndroog Castle
-Potential setting of Severdroog castle.
-Located within Oxlies Wood-eerie setting.
-Derelict building-awaiting restoration.
-Planning involved-contact for permission to film within the castle, research history for good storyline.



Technology

Camera
-Camera discussed for usage HD camera (loaned) for trailer production.
Techniques-blurring effect, zoom in, zoom out.
-Compact camera-for photo shoot (loaned.)
-Use of tripod.

Editing
-The Editor will be using apple mac software to compose the teaser trailer during the editing stage. Programmes used Final cut, Photo booth and IMovie.

Music
-Music and sound effects will be created using apple software to create the backing music, amplify sound effects and add echoes to background using Logistics.
